Rapiscan Systems Launches Multiple TSA Approved X-ray Systems for Air Cargo Screening and Inspection
Multiple systems have been approved by U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in accordance with the requirements in the Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) Alternate Procedure to Indirect Air Carrier Standard Security Program. These systems meet screening mandates as required by the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 passed by United States Congress, mandating the establishment of a system to physically screen of 100% of cargo on passenger aircraft—including the domestic and international inbound flights of foreign and U.S. passenger operations by August 2010.
The TSA’s regulations impact not only domestic carries, but all worldwide air cargo that is inbound to the U.S. Because of our technological expertise and trust that we have earned in this realm, we are uniquely qualified to serve the entire global screening community.
The following approved systems are currently on the TSA Air Cargo “Candidate Technology List”. They have been evaluated by TSA and found to be operationally suited for screening air cargo.
- Rapiscan 620DV Multi-View, 640 mm x 430 mm Tunnel Aperture
- Rapiscan 632DV Multi-View, 1500 mm x 1650 mm Tunnel Aperture
- Rapiscan 638DV Multi-View, 1800 mm x 1800 mm Tunnel Aperture
- Rapiscan MVXR5000 Multi-View, High Speed, 1000 mm x 800 mm Tunnel Aperture
In addition, you will also be pleased to know that Rapiscan is continually seeking to expand our portfolio of air cargo screening solutions and that the TSA continues to evaluate additional Rapiscan Systems’ X-ray models as listed below:
