USA MANDATES HAND SEARCH OR BODY SCANNING OF ALL US BOUND AIR PASSENGERS

Government authorities have determined that had the attacker been screened with a body scanner it would have identified that he had something on his body.
As a result the following actions have been taken with immediate effect:

  • TSA requires that all US bound international passengers are screened either by physical ‘pat down’ search or with a TSA approved* body scanner.
* Rapiscan Secure 1000 Single Pose are TSA approved

  • All airports may use the Secure 1000 Single Pose or L3 Provision instead of pat down for US bound passengers EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
  • The Dutch Government announced 30 December that it will screen all US bound passengers using body scanners.

Rapiscan expects other governments to take similar action shortly – most likely at national level initially, and at international level (e.g. EU) within the coming weeks/month.
